I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully some people with good ideas and something to say will meet with talented engineers and great radio will be made.

With that said, $60 will get you a reasonable recorder or USB microphone and that plus a quiet room and a few hours with a free audio editing application can make for a pretty good podcast.

The problem with most podcasts isn't technical quality, it's that they are made by people who think they are far more interesting or insightful then is perhaps justified. The recording is the easy part -- good presentation of meaningful content is the real challenge.

For over a year and half, the City Manager has appointed a Broadband Task Force to examine broadband service in Cambridge and evaluate the city’s internet infrastructure to

. increase competitors
. reduce prices
. improve internet speed.

The product of this task force has been a Report outlining potential improvements, and recommendations on how to move forward.

In order for these improvements to become reality, it is vital that we gather public support to help advocate for some of the stronger recommendations made by the broadband task force.

We will be holding an advocacy meeting of Cambridge residents. Please respond to Councillor Mazen if you have any questions http://www.cambridgema.gov/CityCouncil/citycouncilmembers

Feel free to pass along this information to any interested parties and email lists.
