The Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports:

Preliminary evidence including clothing and other factors suggests that the body is not that of a young man from Harvard, MA, previously reported missing. Identification efforts are under way and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of his death.

Seems like it's upstream from where the bridge is, no?

I was thinking the same thing. is there speculation that this is the kid that walked out of the bell in hand? seems like a difficult spot for him to wind up.

either way RIP

Because it's not like this anon will have the balls to come back and apologize for their comment if it turns out that today's body is the result of finding nothing from Tuesday's search, but this is exactly why they respond to any report...because even if it's still not true that someone jumped Tuesday, there's no reason not to search in case someone did.

...I'm with you.

Of course authorities should search in case someone needs help and they're able to respond in time.

Very sad - whoever this is.

Strange that if it is someone who went into the water on Tuesday is found already, while Zachary Marr, who supposedly is seen on video disappearing into the water in a contained area, hasn't for nearly a month.
Hoping against the odds that Zachary is OK.

Condolences to this young man's family...

It's not Zachary Marr.

Well, that's reassuring.

I saw something on Twitter that indicated the victim "appeared to have been part of the homeless community". I don't recall the exact source or how definite it was.

A guy went missing from Red Lantern a couple weeks ago. I can't recall it being reported but could be him. Troubling amount of young men found in the Charles.

That's why I don't drink.

if by drinking you mean alcoholic beverages. I've never fallen nor jumped into a river, ocean, other body of water. Neither have I ever killed or injure anyone, or injure myself for that matter.

....dunno....

According to Scauma, there is a link between frequenting drinking establishments and going missing. So, even though I don't know what the odds are, I am playing it safe.

I am fully capable of walking safely across any bridge which spans the Charles River after having a few drinks. For most responsibile adults, drinking doesn't mean drinking until you're obliterated.
Since you have indicated that you have a problem with alcohol, I'm glad for your sake that you choose not to drink.
You have no idea why this person was in the river. It may have nothing to do with drinking. Please save your teetotaling judgmental scorn.

Trust me.

I just wanted to head off the poster's theory that young men are being abducted, killed, and their bodies are being dumped in various bodies of water in the Boston area.
