This is fronting on Tremont, westerly side.

Today it is the Douglas Park apartments.

The site was sold in the 60's after the T decided that good transit service in a then working class primarily African American Boston neighborhood wasn't worth the effort. Wow, that sounds awfully familiar. Did I hear something about that recently?

I think the steeple looks more like People's Baptist on Tremont in Lower Roxbury - Link.

than Union United Methodist's - Link.

The photo must have been taken in the South End, on Tremont Street. Check out the steeple -- it matches the one on Union United Methodist Church.

Thanks for playing, folks! This is the Lennox Street Carhouse on the corner of Tremont and Lennox on February 8, 1912. Those of you who guessed that this is payday are correct! The line of men are waiting for the paymaster.
