Good gravy: Turkeys stuffing themselves into every last corner everywhere

Turkey on Beacon Street near Yawkey Way

Reports are coming in from pretty much everywhere: Turkeys in the Boston area are on the move. To where, exactly, cannot yet be said, but drivers and pedestrians alike need to step lively, or slow down, as the case may be.

Andrew Bauer shows us why our roads no longer just need bike lanes; these days they need turkey lanes - like on Beacon Street near the stairs to Yawkey Station.

But wait, there's more:

Neil the roving UHub photographer came upon this rumbling herd in Hingham the other day:

Turkeys in Hingham

Jessica Kent, meanwhile, asked this morning:

Saw the Harvard Square Turkey in a state of shock, attended to by two cyclists at the Anderson Brg. this AM. Any news, anyone?

She reports tonight:

I got a report that he is alive and well, and back in the Square!

run last Saturday (Neponset Valley Parkway). Pretty calm, they let me pass without any nipping. Neat to see one male displaying (never saw that before).

the best way to handle coming across turkeys in the road in your car is to just keep going normally

they will get out of your way

source: family farm has 2 flocks of wild turkeys that reside there. they can fly when they need to. slowing down only prolongs the process.
