Guy arrested for shooting blanks in Cambridge

Cambridge Police report arresting a man they say fired blank rounds from a gun several times in the area of Broadway and Windsor Street last month.

Jose DeJesus, 44 - who lives at 243 Broadway, at Windsor - was arrested late yesterday on charges of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and disorderly conduct, police say, adding he could face additional charges. He's also suspected of having something to do with the blank shell casings found in the area of Norfolk Street and Cambridge Street on Dec. 30, police say.

Police say their investigation was aided by tips from the public.

They added DeJesus is not suspected in a case of actual rounds shot on March 9 in the area of Columbia and Pine streets, in which a parked car and a building were hit.
