Guys on bicycles robbed one, tried to rob a second overnight in Cambridge

Cambridge Police report two robbery attempts overnight in Cambridgeport and the Port (formerly Area IV).

Shortly after midnight, police say, a man walking in the area of Pearl and Lopez streets found himself accosted by two guys on bikes who wanted his money and valuables. He was able to flee without giving anything up, police say.

The bike bandits were more successful around 1:15 a.m. on Windsor Street:

When the victim responded that he did not have anything on him, one of the suspects verbally threatened him. The victim then removed approximately $60 in cash from his wallet and the suspects fled the area with the money on Windsor Street heading towards Main Street.

The suspects are described as black, in their mid teens or 20s. In the second incident, the victim reported they wore dark hoodies with the hoods pulled over their head. One wore a dark bandana and white basketball sneakers with dark accents.

The City Council voted to change the name in October.

Cambridgeport is still Cambridgeport, Area IV is The Port. Pearl and Lopez is Cambridgeport.

You call it "The Port". If you are a busybody, and manage to push it through before anyone who is not stupid has time to stop it.

The way for residents to improve morale in Area IV is to start snitchin' on the bad apples who do the crime. Not to name yourself confusingly after the nicer neighborhood across Mass. Ave.

I don't get dates by changing my name to something that could be mistaken for Matt Damon.
