Jury convicts man in East Boston stabbing death

A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Cristian Santa, 25, of Revere of voluntary manslaughter for the stabbing death of John Barrientos in 2012.
Santa faces up to 20 years in state prison at his Friday sentencing, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Prosecutors say the two had been drinking in Barrientos's Chelsea Street apartment on May 3 into May 4, when something happened and Santa fatally stabbed Barrientos around 5 a.m., then dragged his body into an alley behind the building.
