Lost little dog roams the North End, runs down onto I-93, but don't worry, this tail has a happy ending

Lost little dog in the North End

Updated.

A dog who broke free from her boarder while her owner is in Florida spent much of today roaming the North End and parts of downtown - and survived a trot down into an I-93 tunnel before showing up at Mass. General.

As Scott Cohen was posting an urgent Facebook request for friends to look out for little Posy, the dog was attracting attention from Boston Police.

Around 11:20 a.m., a Boston police officer reported seeing her running around Cross Street, then crossing over to the Greenway. Another officer then saw her running down a ramp into one of the I-93 tunnels.

She made it out of the tunnel OK, because, Cohen reports, she was spotted near Haymarket around 4 p.m. Then, shortly before 5 p.m., he updated the growing number of Twitter users worried about Posy:

FOUND! Little dingus ran straight into Mass General Hospital. Pardon me while I collapse.

And by 6:30, she was back with the boarder, bathed, fed and ready to tuck in with her BFF: Ace:

I was there when she ran into the tunnel. I tried to catch her. Been crying all day. So happy now!

Damn near ran into the tunnel after her. Cars came out asking if she was mine. I have 4 dogs of my own
