Maine man admits he tried selling a teen for sex in the Boston area

A Maine pimp who kept trying to run his paid-sex ring even after he got tossed in the Nashua Street jail pleaded guilty today in a deal that could put him behind bars for 12 years, the US Attorney's office reports.

Two Massachusetts accomplices also pleaded guilty. One faces a sentence of up to 10 years, the other of a little more than 8 years.

Tyrell Gorham, 31, of Lewiston, ME, pleaded guilty to one count of sex trafficking a minor; the other two men to conspiring to sex traffic a minor. Their arrest came after they checked into the Best Western Roundhouse Suites in the South End and they drove the minor to Woburn to service a customer - who turned out to be an undercover cop from Revere.

Gorham recruited the minor from the Portland, Maine area, and Gorham and Young transported her and a friend to the Greater Boston area to work as prostitutes. With assistance from Greene, the minor and her friend posted an advertisement on Backpage.com, which was used to offer the sexual services of the women for a fee. The minor victim and her friend traveled to a motel in Woburn to meet a prospective client, who was actually an undercover law enforcement officer.

Oh, wait - they were from Connecticut. Or was it Boston, NY?

I thought Maine had no pimps? Fucking scumbag, regardless of his origin. I hope that the young person in question gets enough help, support, and treatment to live a good life.

Police said Gorham claims to be affiliated with the Bloods, a national gang known for its violence and involvement in drug trafficking. He is originally from Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., police said."Since July of 2006, the Waterville Police Department has arrested or summonsed Gorham 18 times, for crimes ranging for driving offenses, possession of narcotics, terrorizing and assault," Police Chief Joseph Massey said. "To say that we characterize him as a danger to our community would be an understatement."A check of Gorham's criminal record shows arrests in New York for forgery and weapons possession, according to police.
