Once an idiot, always an idiot

So 2004 and apparently still current Idiot Curt Schilling this evening tweeted a photo of a guy at a Trump rally wearing a shirt reading "Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some Assembly Required," with an approving "OK, so much awesome here," then spent a few carefree hours telling people who complained to grow a pair and learn to appreciate a joke, then deleted the tweet.

Can't freedom loving Curt Schilling use the 1st amendment to wish for the elimination of the 1st amendment for others?

What a garbage person he's revealed himself to be. It's really too bad the Sox didn't get to the Series a few years earlier when Pedro was in his prime so this guy would be a footnote in Sox history.

This is pushing those limits.

Can you imagine the reaction if it said "police officer" instead?

...can't figure out why I actively root against the Sox while not even being a real sports fan.

Go Cubs!

keep denying it but there is a direct relationship between racists and right wing nut jobs and boston sports teams and fans.

a few more examples:

1. idiot johnny damon (04 sox) was chanting build that wall while campaigning for trump
2. bill belichek (you know the cheater) wrote a letter to trump saying what a great leader trump is.
3. tom brady just voted for trump.
4. bruins fans send out racist tweets when a black player from the opposing team scores a goal.
5. the red sox have a street name after a racist (yawkey way).
6. listen to WEEI one morning.

i can list many more...

and i don't even like sports but i root against the local teams for a reason.

He does put in a lot of effort to provide one sided statistics (unproven). I think you could find the same stats about the fan base in any other city\state with a major sports franchise. What is really funny is he admits he doesn't like sports but does root for non local teams. I'm guessing a jock stuffed him in his locker in high school and he still isn't over it!

Cool but I am talking about Boston sports. Please stay on topic.

Yes. I like to playsports not watch grown men play them. Which is hard for boston sports fans to understand but i guess that's why there are very few professional athletes from the Mass burbs. I am off to play indoor soccer...enjoy the couch.

3. tom brady just voted for trump.

Or are you believing the presidential candidate who has been proven to lie at the highest rate thus far?

Tom Brady hasn't come out and said who he voted for. Giselle has said nope, but clearly you'd rather believe Trump's shouts up in NH.

What's a "direct relationship"? I'm familiar with "direct correlation" and "inverse correlation", but what's a "direct relationship"? You seem to think that there's some connection between your cherrypicked fun facts and Boston sports teams (or nearby streets, or a radio station, or someone who was on the team 15 years ago). In fact, you probably would do better to observe that in each case, the perpetrators both have two arms, two legs and a head.

i can list many more...

I think you need to explain what a "direct relationship" is, and then demonstrate it in each case, before you go on to "list many more".

and i don't even like sports but i root against the local teams for a reason.

Right, because you're an againsty asshat attention whore, we got it.

Remember how the media sat up and begged for the next stupid thing that Trump would say? Now look at where we are. The local media (sorry Adam) is doing the same thing with Shilling. He's being "controversial" to build his reputation for his new radio show. Please, just ignore him and he will collapse and wither away.

simpler explanation that Schilling is genuinely a bigoted, undereducated loon, not just someone playing that character for the entertainment value.

I know it's tempting to think that he's just another deliberate clown (like Rush or Hannity or Beck or pick-your-AM-radio-hate-spewer) aiming to get rich off idiot citizens, but I think he really is just that dumb of a racist, spiteful, pig-ignorant asshole.

In honor of election day, this is a clearcut application of Trump's Razor: ascertain the stupidest possible scenario that can be reconciled with the available facts, and that answer is likely correct.

the Herald its chief propagandist writes with impunity and the support of its editors and owner: "But like Obama, Hillary wants to import a replacement population, one as amoral and shiftless as she and her followers. People who, you might say, don’t need no stinkin’ badges."

Free pass as usual.

Have the courage of your convictions, you tiny little coward. If it was really just a joke, why did you delete it?

Only one way he could have been any lamer, and that's by claiming that he was hacked.

Good grief man. A photo of your stitched ankle? Not your face, with or without jersey, with or without ring, with or without teammates, with or without fans.

No. Your stitched ankle.

What a maroon.

A shot of his booze-puffy, lazy-eyed mug? A stack of media-job pink slips? A bill to RI taxpayers for $75M?

I swiftly went from being deeply grateful for his 2004 grit and clutchness to profound regret that sports fame could give a bilious, hateful crank a platform for some astonishingly loathsome, dumber-than-dogshit politics.

His poor wife. I hope she can talk him out of running against Warren. (Not really. That ridiculous, red-faced, screaming man-baby richly deserves a righteous spanking.)
