Life in prison, no parole
Too many Boston thugs and gang-bangers don't seem to consider prison time sufficient disincentive.
Would they, if being convicted of a shooting like this, that threatens innocents at their homes, means you go away for life, with no possibility of parole?
A 9 year-old at a birthday party was shot in the back while running away, and might be paralyzed. Depending on the circumstances, I think that might rate life in prison for the persons responsible.

Grown men with guns aiming their guns at a little girl and her family while she celebrates her birthday... just disgusting.
Misleading article
The headlines and storyline make it sound like it was a child's birthday party where these thugs suddenly started shooting.
But when you read carefully, it was a birthday party for an 18-year old and the shooting occurred very late Saturday night (actually 1 AM Sunday morning.)
Of course it is a tragedy, but the Herald story makes many of us wrongly believe that it was a middle-of-the-day shooting at a 9 year olds birthday party. This is incorrect.
