Police: Guy picks wrong car to break into

Boston Police report arresting a man they say was rummaging through the personal car of a BPD detective outside 120 Pleasant St. in Dorchester around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say the off-duty detective, who works out of District B-2 in Roxbury, spotted the guy in his car and managed to get him out and onto the ground as he called 911.

At this time, the suspect suddenly got up and took off running, entering the basement of a home in an attempt to allude the off duty detective who was now pursuing him. Additional units quickly arrived on scene and were directed to the basement where the detective was holding the suspect at bay with the assistance of a witness. The officers were able to take control the suspect and place him in custody after a brief but violent struggle.

Enrique Santos, 46, was charged with unarmed breaking and entering, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, trespassing and resisting arrest, police say, adding he was already wanted on three prior larceny warrants.

Innocent, etc.

I guess we now know how one of our BPD professionals would handle this.

Perhaps This Comment, while plausible, was a bit misaimed based on geographic location?

And it still ended with a violent struggle, I wonder if any of the responding officers were wearing body camera's to corroborate the resisting arrest charge or if the "violent struggle" isn't a cover up for instant justice.

You'd think that would be a fairly common word in copspeak.

What is alluded in the report is that the unpleasant Pleasant St. dude what deluded in his attempt to elude the displeased but dutiful B-3 detective.
