Ray Bolger mural in Dorchester

The Mayor's Mural Crew this week finished an homage to Dorchester's own Ray Bolger, best known for his role as the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz." It's on the side of Romel Dry Cleaners, at Dorchester Avenue and St. Mark's Road.

Is the Tin Man going up on a wall in South Boston?

Somewhere near his childhood home at 166 F street, perhaps?

Lollipop Guild member Jerry Maren was from Roxbury.

He's 96 years-old and I think he might be the last surviving cast member. (he's my great-great uncle)

Kansas is famous for exactly three things: Superman, that Dust in the Wind song, and the Wizard of Oz. Why is Boston trying to appropriate the Wizard of Oz?
