State Police say trooper hit by man driving motorcycle wrong way down Rte. 1 in Foxborough

State Police report a trooper was seriously injured after the Patriots game by an Everett man they say was trying to evade other troopers by heading south on Rte. 1 northbound on his 2009 Ducati.

State Police did not say why troopers were trying to stop Jose Perez-Rodriguez, 25, but say he will be formally charged as soon as he gets out of the hospital himself.

The crash occurred at parking lot P8 a short distance south of Gillette on Route 1. Preliminary investigation indicates that troopers on foot at traffic posts were trying to stop Perez-Rodriguez, who was operating a 2009 Ducati, near the main entrance and the P6 lot. In an attempt to flee from the troopers, the suspect drove against traffic, going south in the northbound lane. When he reached the P8 lot, a trooper again attempted to stop the fleeing suspect. The motorcycle operated by Perez-Rodriguez struck that trooper.

Innocent, etc.

Wait, where's that video of the cop knocking the guy off his bicycle with his shoulder? I bet that's pretty much what happened here.

There is a big difference between speed and mass of a motorcycle and that of a bicycle.

no fear, no regard for others, obnoxious. im not speaking of all bikers and I don't care if you want to go fast but please don't go between me and the car sitting next to me on rte128 doing 75mph while the rest of traffic is completely stopped. we all want to go home Jax, id just really prefer you didn't drive like a complete asshole and I didn't have to worry about crushing your body under my car because you are stupid. grow up.

hope that cop is ok and I hope that moron on the bike is drawn and quartered.

Best wishes to the trooper for a full recovery. We passed the accident leaving the game yesterday, saw the motorcycle and a large number of troopers at the site. Notwithstanding the circumstances of the accident, there is not much room for driver error leaving Gillette, many cars funneled into three lanes close to the sidewalk where fans are walking, parking lots emptying onto Route 1, people crossing the road unexpectedly, and I would suspect a number of drivers to have had a few drinks.

Some of these bikers are reckless, extremely dangerous, and over the top to loud. If the noise law or ordinance for music, excessive use of the horn; why the law regulate loud motorcycles.

Fast recovery Captain Detective.
