Why at the MBTA, not the legislature?

I was unfortunate enough to have gotten off a redline train @ 9PM, planned on taking a greenline 'LRV' AKA trolley, was told no greenline service, go upstairs for a bus, large crowd. After 5 minutes a half dozen or so transit cops on motorcycles roared onto the Park st plaza, sirens, lights...I thought there was a terrorist attack or John Kerry was in town and needed an escort.

Pathetic. This shit is becoming a daily occurrence. The 4th largest and heavily used transit system in the United States of America is running on fumes and duct tape.

I grabbed the Orange Line to Forest Hills to run a quick errand and then decided to take the 39 back downtown as I wasn't in that much of a hurry. While on the 39 I realize I could make a train home from North Station. I spot 3627 trailing a deuce into town at Heath Street and wait for the 39 to gain enough of a lead. I figured: "Oh, I'll just switch at Northeastern and save a bit of time!" The 39 gets the green light; the trolley doesn't. I hop out at Northeastern and make the train just as it is pulling in.

I show my pass and take a seat...

And then the motorwoman announces the train is going back to Heath...

And that there's no service into the subway...

(Ah, so that's why the Brigham official was racing up the street with his lights flashing...)

I just walked to Ruggles and grabbed the same train (01234!) downtown I had taken to The Hills.

At least the hacks at DCR managed to keep the parks clean and safe even if they liked to party and joyride through downtown Boston.
The MBTA is unsafe covered with graffiti reeks of urine and I can hardly wait for their explanation of what went wrong last night. Even their own police department travels by bicycles, motorcycles, and fancy cars instead of riding trains and buses.

covered with graffiti reeks of urine

I ride several modes of the T every day and rarely ever come across graffiti-covered, urine-soaked trains, buses, or stations.

Yeah, that sounds much more like New York. MTBA may be held together with duct tape and a prayer, but it's relatively clean.

Or how about the stairway that leads down from the upper bus platform to the lower bus platform at Harvard Square. Foul!
