Trains die on Orange and Red; the delays begin to spread

The T is advising "moderate" delays into town on the Red Line from Braintree due to a train that just could not make it past Quincy Center, and "minor" delays into town on the Orange Line from Forest Hills, due to a train that ascended to the pearly gates at Mass. Ave.

Every.Single.Day. It's amazing an organization can be as inept as the T. Just shut the whole thing down for a year and make whatever fixes need to be made. Yes the employees (who mostly suck) are overpaid, and they have the big dig to deal with but even if none of that were true they'd find a way to screw up.

How do you do that, though? That's practically like saying, let's shut down the city's power grid because it needs major upgrades/repairs. People sort of need the T to be there to get around, even if it is as broken as it is.

If Charlie hadn't fixed the T then these would be severe delays. Something to keep in mind.

You post here enough to know the fare increase isn't even going to repairs and upgrades but to patching a budget hole. And no one is even claiming otherwise, so this post is just outright lying.
