Trumpland, MA: Attorney general reports 400 calls to hate line in first week

WGBH reports:

In Springfield, a Puerto Rican couple woke up to have their door keyed, ‘go home.’ In Attleboro, we saw graffiti in the schools, the N-word and the KKK. Last week, there were Ku Klux Klan newspapers dropped on doorsteps in the town of Milford. We had reports of a black woman and her daughter who claimed to have been run off the road - literally, they were in their car.

It's getting cold out there... sit home with shades drawn, lights off, and blankets over the head...call the number with BS stories and nothing happens if you're lying anyway....

plus, Adam doesn't label the "Trumpland" retractions accordingly so that factors in somewhere...

      TrumpLand, MA fake-out

      By on

A single instance out of 400 would be abhorrent. An equally disgusting mindset is creating racial discord under the guise to 'bring attention to the effects of the presidential election on many within our community'. Unfortunately stories such as this incident at Williams College in Williamstown MA are routinely ignored as it does not fit with the greater narrative of white nationalism running wild due to a Trump presidency.

Isn't it the job of the police to record and investigate these matters? The AG is overstepping her jurisdiction for political reasons. Each incident should be reported to the police first. Not to some intern staffer on a hotline.

Keying someone's door is a matter for the police. Being an obnoxious ignorant cousin-marrying racist shithead in public and yelling a racist insult at someone isn't, but it is a bias incident that's worth recording and tracking.

Lets get started prosecuting the hate mongers. So far the only one who has done anything is DA Dan Connolly who had the three haters arrested and charged with civil rights violation when they brutally beat a female immigrant on a red line train.
Does anyone know if a go fund me page has been set up to help the poor immigrant woman I would like to contribute.

      Due to the protected class

Due to the protected class status of the offenders versus the victim, the offenders are more likely to have a Go Fund Me page. I admit I am not up to date with the entitlements of protected classes, such as the extra protections for illegal immigrants and extra protections for legal immigrants that immigrants with citizenship are not entitled to. I now know that illegal immigrants who get their section-8 door paint scratched up get to contact the DA directly while most citizens have to call the non-emergency police number.

Jesus. Is there a victim mentality website that keeps up to date with these things? I know that Puerto Ricans lost a few victim points with the US Territory thing, but unless something has changed since Chico and the Man, I think that Puerto Ricans get to call the DA directly for quality of life problems.

No, wait. You are clearly not capable of grasping that concept. It seems I have a few more back and forths before Elmer konks you.

We now have President-elect Donald J. Trump, who will allow the haters among the general population(s) here in the United States, generally, to run amok, and call all the shots, and do whatever the hell they please to whomever they please1 It's downright disgusting. What were the American people really thinking when they voted this bigoted, arrogant, bloviating shenanigan into the White House in the first place?

People are trying to pretend these are isolated incidents, not real, not reflective of the incoming administration, etc. When Neo Nazis think they are now establishment and descend on DC shouting Heil Trump, it's more than just a few incidents. When I read about Trump complaining that the NY Times "making" him look like he has a double chin (similar to complaining they made it look like he has a nose btw), my first thought was Kim Jong Trump - stop acting like a dictator if you don't like the comparisons. (my new fave after Trumpilstiltskin - also Trumpilthinskin.)

      This:

is undoubtedly correct. FBI Agt. Comey (who, btw, was appointed by President Barack Obama.), threw a monkey wrench into this year's POTUS Election, which isn't surprising, given Comey's record of dirty work. Hillary Clinton may not have been the best Candidate for POTUS, but she would've been far better than Donald Trump, I'm sure.

      By on

This is what really bugs me about Trump voters screaming "He won! We voted for him! Why should New York and California decide for us?"

Maybe because what he does directly and indirectly will affect way more people in New York and California? Why does your vote count more just because you live in cow country? Voting should be by population count, regardless of whether a republican or a democrat wins.

      Not a quirk

      By on

How is it a quirk that Trump will be taking office having "the majority of Americans voting against him"? The majority of Americans also voted against Clinton. In fact, the majority of Americans voted against Bill Clinton in both 1992 and 1996. Nobody named Clinton has ever "won" the popular vote. In all three elections, enough voters threw away their votes with third party candidates that it kept anyone from winning (or losing) with an absolute majority of the popular vote.
