Yet another restaurant fails to button up a downtown location
By adamg on Fri, 10/14/2016 - 1:56pm
Ever since the Windsor Button Shop on Temple Place closed in 2013, restaurant operators keep proposing restaurants for the space - and then keep pulling back. The latest never-will-be is Niku Ramen, which applied for a liquor license last month, then canceled its hearing and which, Boston Restaurant Talk reports, has pulled out for good.

Bummer. Chinatown/downtown
Bummer. Chinatown/downtown could really use a ramen shop.
That area
Could use a KFC/Taco Bell.
DTX doesn't need another shitty chain outlet like
Taco Bell/KFC. You can get real tacos at Pedro's, and Crave, a short walk away, has awesome Korean fried chicken.
WHAT?
Taco Bell? KFC???
no.
Serves the greedy landlord
Serves the greedy landlord right for murdering a Boston retail institution. I hope he loses even more money for being a dick.
The knitting gods are pleased
May the Curse of Windsor Button continue to rain down on the landlords for infinity!
Windsor Button was great, but I can't complain much, as I only
patronized it once every couple of years. When I needed a weird leather button with a metal-loop attachment for a 70s-vintage Tyler Durden style leather car coat, Windsor had it. RIP.
Somebody will make a go of that place. The neighborhood's restaurants are getting much better fast. See my review of haley.henry, for one.
SOLD
The new owners of the property have a Retail/Restaurant space available sign up in the window. Colliers is listing.
