Watching the DNC roll call, where every state boasts of its uniqueness and where this guy from New Jersey just boldly stated "We are the state that started the Revolution!" Wha?

Seriously, though... one of New Jersey's nicknames is "Crossroads of The Revolution", and several important battles happened there.
Actually, many more than Massachusetts
I am not sure any battles of consequence occurred in Massachusetts after Bunker Hill. Somehow we managed to stat the war and have most of it fought elsewhere.

Yep, most of the rest of the war was fought elsewhere, but that doesn't negate the fact the war essentially began here, not in New Jersey.

Plus, after evacuation, the British basically treated Massachusetts as a lost cause. Too much of the populace was too stirred up by the Patriot cause. Unlike in places like New York and New Jersey, they didn't really have any hope of winning back Massachusetts, so the strategy for much of the war was to try to cut off and isolate rebellious Massachusetts (and the rest of New England) from the other colonies. It didn't work.

He said the only state with "two great senators." I figured he meant they were the only ones with two Democratic senators, and then I was all "waiiiiiiiiit."
At first I figured he meant that N.J. was the first state to go for Sanders but Hilary won Jersey in a landslide. So, I give up!
