Election officials to hold meeting in Chinatown tomorrow on the 'vote farming' issue

The Boston Election Department has set a meeting tomorrow morning at Asian Community Development Corp. to discuss "possible unauthorized actions involving absentee ballots."

At the meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. in the Metropolitan Community Room at the Oak Street entrance, officials will offer assistance to residents who "need assistance in filling out a new application" for an absentee ballot.

The department is looking into allegations that the Mike Kelley campaign collected blank absentee ballots from elderly residents - a charge the campaign denies as "desperate smear campaign politics" by opponent Ed Flynn.
