Five-alarm fire in Mattapan three-decker displaces 19, sends five firefighters to the hospital

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 41 Evelyn St. around 7:45 p.m. for what turned into a five-alarm fire.

The department reports three firefighters suffered heat exhaustion, one a shoulder injury and one a finger injury. No residents were injured, 19 were displaced.

The cause remains under investigation. Damage was estimated at $500,000.
