How housekeepers at an Allston hotel took on Harvard and won; lessons for the age of Trump

The Nation takes a look at a long, and ultimately, successful union-organizing drive by housekeepers at the Doubletree Suites (that nondescript thing by the Allston/Cambridge exit off the turnpike where the Coke plant used to be that it turns out Harvard bought during its Allston conquest).

"long, and ultimately, successful union-organizing drive"
So something which precedes Trump is now directly correlated. What a hot take!
Read the article to the end
I know, it's long and longform journalism is sooooo hard to wade through, but, really, if you read the article, you'll see the author make the connection in a way that makes sense.
Different hotels' names. Same building.
After construction when building opened the hotel was under a different name... what was the original name and other names before the current name?

I can remember Guest Quarters and Embassy Suites but not sure of the order.

excellent article

I hadn't realized how huge the endowment was in relation to Harvard's overall budget. Nor had I known that Harvard owned the hotel, corrections in the "Crimson" notwithstanding. Very good article.
Has Harvard ever done anything for its lower-level employees unless it was compelled to by unions? The administrative staff, dining workers, now the hotel staff, all had to turn to unions and the media to get treated decently.
Why anyone gives money to them is beyond me, other than the tribal loyalty to its influential network of alumni. There are so many nonprofits that do great work that need support.
