It's too bad that a meeting to talk about immigration and diversity seems to have had almost zero diversity - at least judging by the photo.

I like the idea of RISE, and I applaud the group for arranging a discussion on the topic. However, I can't recall a time when Roslindale wasn't for everyone. It's been a very diverse neighborhood for generations. Way more diverse than the make-up for this event. Perhaps the group can do more outreach to recruit others into the discussion. If greater diversity and acceptance is the goal, it will take more than mostly "middle-aged white folks" to get the job done. Or they could plan events that actually get the neighborhood together - I can guarantee that some sort of "Celebrate Roslindale" festival would have a WAY larger attendance and WAY more diversity. We are diverse, we don't need to force it, we should get together to celebrate it and leave the politics aside.
