Third Boston city councilor not running for re-election

NorthEndWaterfront.com reports Councilor Sal LaMattina (North End, Charlestown, East Boston) won't run for re-election this fall. The East Boston Times-Free Press, which broke the story, has more.

LaMattina, first elected in a special election in 2006, joins Bill Linehan (South Boston, South End, Downtown, Chinatown) and Tito Jackson (Roxbury) in the retirement club - although Jackson hopes to move to get elected mayor instead.

Thank you for your 11-years of work on the council.

Unrelated but can you guys (and gals) announce prior to a year before the election so I can carpet-bag in and run?

Super. Now maybe we can find someone who's not a supporter of racial segregation in schools and doesn't reply to constituents with dismissive Christian platitudes instead of thought and care. Good riddance.

This is your big chance, then!

Where should I send my contribution to your campaign account? What? You don't have one? You're not running? You don't even live in Boston? Got it.
