Josh Jacobs attended a vigil this afternoon for Srinavas Kuchibhotla, an Indian-born tech worker shot to death in Kansas, allegedly as a hate crime.

Purinton continued to confront the two Indians until employees escorted him out. He returned about 30 minutes later with a handgun, prosecutors say.
Kuchibhotla was shot three times by Purinton and pronounced dead at the University of Kansas Hospital. Madasani was shot once in the leg."
Between travel ban and DHS gloves-off deportation program we're beginning to see the essence of Trumpland "white-nationalist radicalism, eager to turn back the clock on pluralism and multiracial democracy."

Well, here's to the employees that did the right thing.
From NPR: "Police say Adam Purinton, 51, shot the two men as well as another bar patron who intervened on their behalf."
That patron was Ian Grillot, 24. He was shot twice.
From the WAPO: "The shooting also injured 24-year-old Ian Grillot, another patron at Austin’s, who apparently tried to intervene."
So, kudos to the white patron that took a bullet (um, two) trying to stick up for these two guys. He exemplifies the best of Trumplandia.

An example of Trumpland is where two dark skin Indian engineers in a bar watching a college basketball game together are approached and asked if they belong-- Are you legal immigrants? -- and when the self-appointed ICE agent's confrontation rises to the level of being disruptive, in a bar, the manager-on-duty escorts him out, and he returns 30 minutes later with a handgun to make things right. That's Trumpland--where the color of your skin or your accent or your Arabic sounding name makes you an 'illegal' and a subject of harassment and a target of lethal force.
Ian Grillot risked his own to save lives. That doesn't change the minds of all the Trump supporters who buy into white-nationalist radicalism

There are Muslims in the Middle East doing horrific things but Richard Lloyd, who lit a dumpster fire to burn a convenience store down in Port Saint Lucy FL didn't explain what the people of Indian descent who owned the store had to do with that. He saw the owner and assumed he was Muslim. He wanted to "run the Arabs out of our country" and do "his part for America."
There are in fact 173 million Muslims in India. That's about 14% of the population. The report identified the owner as of Indian descent It did not identify his religion. In other words, Richard Lloyd made an assumption.
If you look at the likelihood of different causes of death in the US, death by violent radicalized Muslim comes below most things like death by lightening. Gunshot and car accidents lead the list. And yet too many Americans, including some of whom are mentally ill, have been conditioned to fear Muslims. Radicalized Muslims are like 0.00001% of Muslims world wide.
So how have Americans become conditioned to fear Muslims so strongly; 9/11, Pulse, ISIS beheadings, Sacramento. Boston Marathon, a well funded islamophobia, Fox News and by associating illegal immigrants with violent crime as normative when in fact 1st generation immigrants, documented and undocumented, break the law at a lower rate than Americans.
Another part of conditioning is white nationalist radicalism being enforced as policy by two executive orders, one on immigration "extreme vetting" and one on deportation "gloves-off"
American Muhammad Ali Jr has been caught in the web twice. Once returning from Haiti to Florida, and once returning from DC to Florida. DHS said he had an Arab-sounding name.
Trump's dumpster fire is his travel ban and his ICE plan and that's just for starters.
