Mattapan trolley service is down. For an inch of snow. Mattapan, Ashmont, Fairmount continue to crumble.

You're getting another Fairmount station, so 95% empty trains can crawl in, crawl out, get cancelled, or simply die. No I get it. Mattapan, Dorchester, and Roxbury don't matter to Pollack. We get a small bone while white communities get $2,500,000,000.00 for their Green Line trolley extension.

You could ride YOUR bike. Commuting in challenging conditions is hardly "goofing off".

Whining that somebody else biked to work today and wasn't as miserable as you were isn't exactly effective activism, either.

You could also organize a march on Beacon Hill or some lesser statement of your and other's discontent.

As for Pollack's PR ... explain?

Goddard, who took the shot, is Pollack's full-time PR person. She was originally with Menino. She's great but has a tough job. This wouldn't be the first PR misstep this month. My friend was telling me how Pollack & Goddard were wining & dining in Washington telling everyone how they fixed the T; while my friend was getting mobile alerts about the latest Red Line collapse.

Sorry about your commute, dude, but do note the time stamp if you click to the source: 5:48 am

She gets to goof off on her own time. It is a really good bet that 5:48 am is her own time.

to be fair, twitter shows everything in PST if you're not signed into your account (then it'll show you when things were posted in your specified time zone), so actually this was posted at 8:48am, but the point stands that snapping a quick pic of a bicyclist in the morning and posting it on twitter isn't, like, this huge derailment from working lol

Goddard spends her days 24/7 (yes 24/7) covering every corner of Greater Boston showing how the MBTA and MassDOT are assisting customers. Wollaston, to MetroWest, to Hingham. An entire rail line goes down, Mattapan, with initial notice well in advance. Where was Goddard or JoeP? Not even a tweet from central command about the down line. So when I see a fluff tweet from public relations while I was waiting 30 plus minutes for a Mattapan replacement shuttle, sorry if I get a little upset. I'm not angry with Goddard. I'm upset with whoever told her to go to Cambridge instead of Mattapan. Cambridge rail service was fine yesterday. Is Mattapan second class, too dangerous, just not important? Or, did PR fail to show because the shutdown was intentional? Are we meant to use the future Blue Hill Fairmount station (aka the future muggers paradise)? Will the trolley shut down right before Blue Hill opens? Morton Station is smashed and trashed in 2018. Does the T expect a Mattapan to Fairmount "miracle" shift?

All that having to find a darkroom and waiting for chemicals to work and stuff is really a thing of the past.

I have no idea why she was standing outside in Cambridge this morning, but you can see something interesting/funny going on, take a picture with your phone and have it on the tweeters in well under a minute these days - and then go back to whatever it is you were supposed to be doing (also, check the time stamp on her original tweet: it was 8:48 a.m., so it's possible she wasn't even on work time yet).

And, really, most PR people have phones these days - they can be on call even if they are standing outside in the snow in Cambridge.
