Somerville condo perfect for somebody who ain't afraid of no ghosts

A Zillow listing for a condo on Rush Street starts:

GHOSTS! You won't find them here. This newly constructed building is 100% ghost free. Move right in with no fear. And even if there were ghosts (there are not) they would be easy to spot in this wide open floor plan with high vaulted ceilings and multiple skylights.

Get a cat. Cats can see ghosts. Cats chase them around at night.

My cat smushes his big fat furry self against my face every morning, and if I try to roll over or protect my airways, he walks across my face to try again on the other side and barks at me.

So I mean... you're not wrong.

Have burn to the ground in a stretch of Rush St. of about 100 yards in the last 5-10 years. As well as damaging several adjacent houses in the various fires. This is property is one of the replacement multi-families. (And . . the East Somerville Community School which is next door on the right, was a complete fire loss in '07.) Maybe that's the haunted reference.

Ok, thanks for the context. When I saw that ad I was at a loss to figure out why it mentioned ghosts in the first place. Never would have occurred to me, but the listing agent brought up the subject!

Victims of that Somerville serial arsonist 5-10 years ago?

Was it motivated by money or psychiatric problem?

The school fire was the result of a malfunctioning electric heater in a classroom.

Why? Is there a haunted history in the place? Cool.

Sellers are not required to disclose that "the real property has been the site of an alleged parapsychological or supernatural phenomenon." But it is reassuring to know that there are no ghosts at this location.

Painful to see a developer trying to replicate a historic building and failing miserably. They got every single important detail wrong.
