This film, by New England Telephone and Telegraph and the Massachusetts Commission on Public Safety, was released a couple months before Pearl Harbor.

My father served as a heavy artillery gunner for the US Army's 241st Coast Artillery protecting and defending Boston Harbor during this time. He was stationed at Fort Andrews on Peddocks Island in Boston Harbor.

Nice to know the backup plan was Boyscouts on bicycles. Mr. Chase has a Boston accent worthy of study but it's worth it just for his dramatic sit to stand performance.

The fire station looks familiar. My grandfather would have been working in the Cambridge FD at that time but I think I've ruled out Cambridge fire stations. Also, very surprised to see color film in early part of war.
