Strollercat is so yesterday; say hello to Trainturtle

Trainturtle

MBCR, which runs the T's commuter trains, tweets somebody left a turtle on one of its trains now and that it's now looking for an aquarium or school to take him in. And no, wise guy, they're not going to adopt him as a mascot.

H/t Kat Hasenauer for coming up with his/her name.

Judge saves pig's bacon

The Brockton Enterprise reports a judge has ruled Porkchop the pig can go home again, because city officials didn't properly serve his owner with removal papers, which violated the owner's due-process rights.

With a photo of the happy porker headed home - a photo that makes you wonder why the pig wasn't holding a pinwheel.

Two arrested in East Boston after seizure of 42 pounds of heroin

Miguel Antonio Rivera, 35, of Chelsea and Santa Cruz, 49, of Norwalk, CT, face arraignment in East Boston District Court today following their arrests yesterday afternoon on Sumner Street, where Boston and State Police seized more than 42 pounds of heroin, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The feds have gotten involved - DEA took possession of the substance for analysis and followup investigation, while ICE has asked that Rivera be put on ice as they investigate his immigration status, the DA's office says. Police estimate the street value of the heroin at $5 million, but the DA's office says that could change depending on the purity value set by DEA.

Innocent, etc.

Did somebody say snow?

Why yes, and when that somebody is our own Harvey Leonard, we begin to think about checking the breadbox and refrigerator. But before we clear space in the trunk for all that extra milk, he first cautions:

With regards to that next storm (middle of next week), parts of New England could see snow..too early to say for sure.
