The drinking man's candidate for state treasurer

The drink's on him

Looks like Steve Murphy's got the Hyde Park bar-crowd vote sewn up. If nothing else, Murphy, a Boston city councilor unable to ever get elected to anything else, should do well in his base in Boston's southern tier.

Thug politics in Revere

NOTE: The second link link brings you to a Globe story with a link to the site in question; if you click the link, you'll be redirected to a site with a name probably familiar to the T-worker-bashing thug and, depending on your browser and security software, a warning about it being filled with computer Trojans. So proceed at your own risk.

The Boston Fire Department reports crews were called to the Sullivan Square T stop around midnight after somebody was hit by a train there. Not long after, the department reported the person was dead. The MBTA started running shuttle buses between Haymarket and Wellington after it shut power in both directions to let firefighters attempt to extricate the person.

A ticket for walking her dog

The outlaw Joyce Linehan reports she got a ticket (which refers to her as "suspect") today for walking her "pit bull" (who in fact is not a pit bull) without a muzzle through Ashmont. Linehan vows now to give in to Boston's pit-bull muzzle law:

... So, we will be driving to Milton or Quincy twice a day now to walk. And if you asked me right this minute, I'd say we might also start looking for a house outside of the city limits. How messed up would that be? I'm not making him wear a muzzle.

Mass GOPers applaud comparison of national health-care reform to 9/11

Garrett Quinn tweets from the Republican state convention in Worcester:

Mildred Jefferson just compared passage of HCR to 9/11. Got standing O from 2/3 of arena.

Christy Mihos followed up by kvetching about "PatrickCare," which you oldtimers may recall was actually passed under Romney.
