Campaign notes: Kevin McCrea's anguish over an endorsement; And Sam Yoon as the Boy Wonder

Kevin McCrea explains why he's voting for Flaherty tomorrow - and how he almost endorsed Menino instead, he and his wife even went to dinner with the Meninos at Hammersley's Bistro in the South End. In the end, he writes it came down to a single issue:

For me, it came down to the elimination of the BRA. I believe that the institution of the BRA has outlived its usefulness, that it is non-democratic, and that it is corrupt and that it breeds corruption, and that the rich use it as a tool to take advantage of the rest of us. I called Dot Joyce as a courtesy to let her and the Mayor know, and to thank her for her time, and for the Mayor’s valuable time. She tried to convince me otherwise, but I let her know that the BRA was the deciding factor for me. ...

Peter Paul Payack boils the mayoral campaign down to a cartoon.

Jay Fitzgerald predicts Menino V tomorrow, but worries about a remake of Kevin White's role in A Term Too Far.

Yes, that is one big-ass Menino sign by the side of the Expressway in Dorchester.

Today's tip for people who park at a T stop

If you decide you don't really need to bring your laptop, $700 digital camera and Celtics season tickets to work with you, you probably at least want to put them in the trunk, MBTA Transit Police suggest.

Campaign notes: The cult of Chuck Turner, a guide for undecided progvoters and more

WBUR declares Chuck Turner kind of a cult leader, says that helps explain why the Innocent Until Proven Guilty Councilor will win tomorrow.

Are you a still undecided progressive? The Jamaica Plain Progressives have just the candidates' guide for you - shows candidate answers to questionnaires.

It's killing Open Media Boston that they can't endorse candidates, because they're a non-profit, and that'd be a no-no, so the best they can do is tell you to find progressive candidates tomorrow and vote for them.

Chris Lovett examines residency requirements and the race for mayor.

The Herald reports Flaherty says he'll run again if he loses tomorrow - but, of course, he says that won't happen.

The Globe reports Menino and Flaherty went campaigning yesterday.

The Globe declares MIT's political-science department "top ranked," which means we need to pay more attention to chairman's detailed analysis of the changing demographics of Boston voters. Basically, he's discovered that Boston has a lot more minority residents than it used to.

Fighting back against cabbies who refuse to take credit cards

SuperMark reports that when his cab driver told him after an $18 ride that his cab's credit-card reader was broken, he told the guy he only had $8 on him and that he was breaking the law by driving around with a busted reader. Miraculously, the cab driver managed to get the reader to work.

BC student government vows not to let next big party get out of hand

The Heights reports plans are in the works to monitor noise from Modstock this spring, to prevent more problems with neighbors.

The Heights itself opines neighboring residents shouldn't let their feelings about "university expansion, the passage of the Master Plan, the possibility of residence halls on the Brighton Campus, the degradation of the neighborhood brought on by absentee landlords and the havoc students are known to wreak in the community" color their judgment about parties on campus.
