The Model Cafe in Allston reports that for the past few weekends, somebody's been going into the restrooms and ripping the soap and towel dispensers and other things off the walls and hiding them above the ceiling tiles. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let the group that bought Mary Ann's in Cleveland Circle three years ago move its liquor license to a restored historic building in Allston and create an upscale dining and drinking establishment that won't have any sticky floors. Read more.

The Daily Free Press reports the school has suspended its largest frat, Kappa Sigma of Allston, because it had a couple of gatherings after school officials told them not to because of an investigation into potential "sexual misconduct" at its frat house.

StreetsblogMass reports MassDOT announced today that it will be replacing the current elevated loop system where the Allston/Cambridge tolls used to be on the turnpike and the neighboring stretch of Soldiers Field Road with a $1.7-billion ground-level set of roads.

National Development and the Mount Vernon Co. today filed detailed plans for the three-building, 700,000-square-foot complex they want to build on the 6.3-acre Soldiers Field Road site that has been home to WBZ since the 1940s. Read more.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports Flat Top Johnny's has canceled its plans to open a location in Allston, claiming that people who actually live there opposed the idea.

The neighborhood was strongly against us moving in and we are not the kind of business to ignore their wishes.
