Great...
I don't know but I have to go through there to get home...sigh.
I'll let you know what I saw when I get home.
Whew, Comm Ave = HazMat spill
Well, I was fortunate. The problem is on the inbound side of Comm Ave and I was heading in the other direction from BU Bridge. The right lane is closed on inbound Comm Ave for about 3 blocks prior to the BU Bridge. Traffic is backed up to Packard's Corner.
I saw a HazMat truck on the block before the first BU Bridge traffic signal and cop cars every block, for about 3 blocks, back to somewhere between St Paul and Pleasant. The HazMat response team had closed the right lane and put out sawdust/absorbant from just before the light all the way back to the first cop car. So, it's going to be a little while before that side of the road is reopened in both lanes, expect delays. I couldn't tell the source or nature of the spill that they were mopping up.
Oil
I was at BU all day today. It looked to me like a fuel oil delivery truck sprung a leak and poured oil as it drove 3-4 blocks before stopping just before the BU bridge.
Comm Ave still covered with flashing lights
Looks like they've reduced the stretch of road but hazmat and police crews are still out there and they've setup night lights to keep working on the issue.
Fenway, too
There were at least a half a dozen cops on Boylston St near Fenway tonight, too. I assumed it was because of Sir Paul, but I wonder if it could be related.
