Shortly after 7:30 a.m., a truck driver seemed to figure he felt more like a car driver this morning and didn't realize that wasn't the case he suddenly found himself unable to get under the footbridge just before the Kenmore/Fenway exits westbound, as hkergrrl shows us.

State Police arrived not long after and shut the road in both directions to get the fool thing off the road, after helping the driver to unwedge the truck and turn it around, as Jack Loughran observed: Read more.

City Councilor Steve Murphy said today he has postponed a planned hearing Monday on the Boston Public Library's handling of valuable prints and other items, not because two of those items, worth an estimated $630,000, turned up misfiled rather than stolen, but because he does not want to "compromise the integrity" of federal and city investigations into "the whereabouts of library valuables." Transit Police report arresting a Woburn man after he was spotted piggybacking behind another person at the Back Bay Orange Line stop around 2:20 p.m. yesterday.

Police were initially just going to write Timothy Chapman, 35, a citation for fare evasion, but then arrested him after discovering there was a warrant for his arrest on motor-vehicle violations out of Concord District Court. Police say:

During booking Chapman was found to be in possession of nearly 7,000 dollars in US Currency. Yes that's correct, he evaded a $2.10 fare while in possession of nearly 7 thousand dollars and had a warrant for his arrest. Hmmmmmmm.

Found prints at the Boston Public Library

Amy Ryan, BPL Conservation Officer Lauren Schott and the prints.

The Boston Public Library reported this afternoon an employee found the two prints that had gone missing more than a year ago. They weren't stolen, they were just misfiled.

The Rembrandt and Dürer were found together in Row 14B, Bay 3 on Shelf 2, approximately 80 feet from where the items should have been filed. Fourteen staff members searched 180,000 of the print stack’s 320,000 items (including 200,000 prints and drawings in the Print Collection and 120,000 chromolithographs), totaling 38 rows of the 60 rows of print stacks, or about 60% of the inventory. Nine offices, work rooms, and reading rooms had also been searched. The Durer and Rembrandt have been refiled.

Suddenly outgoing BPL President Amy Ryan announced the find not long after at-large City Councilor Steve Murphy called for all of the library trustees to quit immediately.
