State Police report finding a man who plunged 50 feet off the footbridge around 2:20 p.m.

Witnesses said the man was leaning his back against the concrete wall on the east side of the footbridge - which connects the Esplanade with Beacon Street - when put his arms out and appeared to do a back flip up over the wall and down toward the roadway below. The man did not land on Storrow Drive itself, but rather, plummeted farther down to the Berkeley on-ramp, which at that point is lower elevation than the main line. The distance he fell was an estimated 50 feet at least.

UPDATE: Hollaback! Boston reports the guy on the banner is actually not Dov Charney but Dov Charney's grandfather - who just happens to look just like Charney looked like in his 20s:

We want to apologize for jumping the gun in this particular case, but we appreciate the outpouring of support for our work to create safe public spaces in Boston and throughout New England. Some campaigns, like our current MBTA ads, are years in the making; others come up in a flash, and we respond as best we can, as quickly as possible, in support of those who share their stories with us. In this case, we got it wrong.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let the owner of the fire-ravaged TC's Lounge on Haviland sell the liquor license to a company that plans a restaurant and music venue in the new Berklee tower on Mass. Ave.

Jeremiah Tracy, manager of the proposed Boston Beats, said he's hoping to recreate the best of the old Wally's - a place where Berklee and other musicians can just drop in for jam sessions as others enjoy a bite to eat and something to drink.
