A worker at Dirty Water Dough, 222 Newbury Street, suffered burns on his face and hands when one of the eatery's four ovens exploded this morning.

BFD spokesman Steve MacDonald reports:

They had four ovens. Three were on with the fourth - gas on but pilot light out. It built up with gas and fumes then came in contact with oven above it causing the built up gas to ignite all at once.

The explosion also blew out some of the restaurant's plate glass windows and cracked others, he said, adding nobody thought to notify the fire department until the building inspector arrived.

Wanted man

The Eastern Bank branch at 155 Dartmouth St. was held up around 12:15 p.m. by a man who showed a note, but no gun.

He's described as being in his mid 20s, 5'6" to 5'8" with very short hair with just a touch of gray, a light goatee - and very large ears. He was wearing an over-sized, purplish L.L. Bean sweatshirt, white sneakers and a burgundy Nike baseball cap.

An Orange Line train was briefly held at Back Bay for a search; he was not found on the train and service resumed.

No, not Globe Direct, but Restoration Hardware, which has mailed out 17-pound bundles of catalogs to people in Boston's tonier neighborhoods, i.e., not the sort of places you'd think would be sullied by Globe Direct circulars.

Faux NYPD cruiser in Copley Square

There's an odd sight in Copley Square this morning: A film crew shooting something involving a supposed NYPD cruiser.

No, has nothing to do with "Black Mass." Stefani Vieira, who took the photo, reports it's a German film crew making their own movie in which Boston stands in for the more-expensive-to-shoot-in New York.

She says they're also using the BPL as a stand-in for a jail or police station which would give new meaning to the phrase "Book 'em, Danno," except the Germans probably wouldn't get that.

Love lock in the Public Garden

Boston Strolls spotted a love lock permanently affixed to the Public Garden bridge (or at least until somebody from the parks department arrives with a bolt cutter), wonders when this became a thing in the Public Garden. Until now, local love locks had been confined to the bridge over the turnpike at Mass. Ave. and Boylston Street.
