Bill Brett reports that first firefighters had to get out of their truck yesterday and move the damn thing because they couldn't make the turn since it was parked way too close to the intersection.

Then a tow truck came to pull the Prius C away. The end.

Boston firefighters responded around 12:30 p.m. to Figs, 42 Charles St., for a ductwork fire that extended to the roof.

In 2010, a duct fire ravaged English's Olives in Charlestown, starting a process that ultimately led to him losing the restaurant.

Jason reports Boston firefighters and Animal Control teamed up to remove a Corgi stuck in a car on Irving Street with its windows cranked down about six inches and its alarm not shutting off around 3 p.m. Dog-less Californians can retrieve their pet at the city animal shelter in Roslindale.

Many of the buildings sit on wooden pilings that only rot when exposed to dry conditions. The Beacon Hill Times reports on nascent concern in the area about the pilings.

Last Longfellow Bridge tower back in place

MassDOT reports construction workers finished topping off the last of the Longfellow Bridge's iconic shakers today when they re-attached the top, or capstone, of the tower closest to the Museum of Science on the Boston side. Read more.

The Globe reports the proposed easement would let the developer of 25 Beacon St. add three maid's rooms, sorry, au pair's rooms, in an attempt to find buyers for the units, which go for $9 million to $11 million each.

Kylejemge watched the driver of an outbound Red Line train get out of the train and put a fire extinguisher to good use just before Charles/MGH this afternoon:

UPDATE: BFD says the fire started in a rooftop flowerpot, but that investigators don't know what set that on fire.

A fire called in around 7:10 p.m. at 32-34 Hancock St. did an estimated $500,000 in damage, but caused no injuries, the Boston Fire Department reports.

The four-story building has 16 units.

Boston Police report a woman walking with her guide dog was indecently assaulted at Beacon and Bowdoin streets around 10:05 a.m. today.

A former employee of the Suffolk University registrar's office admitted today she gave herself an A in a class she never actually took - business ethics - and passing grades in other classes so she could get federal student loans, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports. Read more.
