These seem to do the trick of moving past the basic "where do you live? what do you do for work?" questions to conversations that lead to more substantial connections.

"What actually happens at events?"

You'll always be greeted by friendly folks who can help get you socializing, introduce you to people, and chat with you about questions or wishes. At our bigger events, there's always a literature table to toss down flyers, postcards, and other paraphenalia about events around town. Most importantly, we can pretty much guarantee there will be someone there you've never met before. As one of our members said, "You are bringing together people who might never get together otherwise - if that ain't a step towards justice I don't know what is."

Sing-alongs at this piano bar have been a Boston tradition since 1988. The emphasis is on rock/oldies from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, with plenty of show tunes and standards, too. Stop by and see why so many people have said that Friday night at Jake's is the most fun they've had in Boston. Of course, there are also all kinds of domestic and imported beers on draft, and the Jacob Wirth dinner menu to enjoy.

Yep, that's right. This is the same ROLLER BOOGIE you've read about in the Globe, Herald, Phoenix, and Weekly Dig. These old school fundraisers are thrown together to keep Boston's last roller rink, Chez Vous, alive. This time, DJs 7L, Knife (Marinate) and resident disco king Colbourne will be keeping you rolling. (Yes, it is as fun as it sounds.)

HOW DO YOU GET TO CHEZ VOUS BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION? Hop a quick bus from Forest Hills Station in JP - take the 21 or 31 and end up at the intersection of Morton and Blue Hill Ave. next to the B-3 police station.

Unwind with us at the Enormous Room in Central Square!*
Wednesday, November 29th @ 6PM

No program. No speaker. Just arrive and enjoy yourself.
For more info & to RSVP (greatly appreciated!): www.socializingforjustice.org.

There isn't a DJ on Wednesdays so come prepared to just lounge and sample an array of excellent martinis and tapas. Not into martinis? Red Stripe's always an option... or just come for the atmo and company.
