Notes from a new Rozzie resident
Blue Star Cafe: I'm a fan. It's good place to go on Sunday morning with the little guy. We never have a problem getting a high chair. I haven't had anything but pancakes in the three times I've been there but I've got no complaints.
Romano's (the pizzeria/taco stand) I had the sicillian which wasn't half bad, steak bombs were ordinary at best. There's gotta be a better place in Rozzie. Full disclosure: I have yet to go to Pleasant St but I am looking forward to it.
Has anyone gone to that little spanish restaurant on the corner of Beach & Washington? I'm kind of a connoisseur of good Latino food. (Oriental De Cuba here I come)

Things I will miss about Brighton
Well the countdown begins. Hopefully I will be moving to Roslindale from Brighton on April 28th. I'm gonna miss a lot in Brighton though:
Imperial Pizza
Athan's Bakery
Being close to the River
Easy drive to work on the Pike
The BPL Oak Square
Taking the little guy down to Starbucks in the morning for coffee and scone where he flirts with all the customers
Cafenation
The Greenbriar
Running around the Reservoir
Kiki's
The Guiness at Irish Village
Being close to Ana's Tacqueria in Coolidge Corner
Being able to walk to St. E's where my son, me and my father were all born
Being so close to our day care in Allston

Good article on the Irish in Boston
Check this article out about the decline of Irish immigration and its effect on the community in Boston. Apparently, Irish numbers have dwindled in Boston, especially since 911.
It makes me kinda sad because I've always thought that the Irish influence in Boston was one of its most important cultural attractions.
