Kured, which has been serving up "fast casual" charcuterie boards at 83 Charles St. on Beacon Hill since last year, learns tomorrow whether it can begin offering beer and wine to go with what people in other neighborhoods might call party platters. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to grant a food-service license to Madhouse Cafe, 24 Blue Hill Ave. in Roxbury, to serve coffee and pastries between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Read more.

Update: Board concludes Cavan Cafe did nothing wrong.

A man who got married on June 23 agreed to go out with a friend for a celebratory drink that night. They wound up at the Cavan Cafe, 1464 Hyde Park Ave. in Hyde Park - where the two got stabbed in the parking lot by a guy who followed them out after they left, not long after they arrived, then decided to call it a night. A man authorities say once headed up the Hendry Street Gang and who was finishing up a federal drug-distribution sentence at a halfway house in the Fenway got into a dispute with somebody outside the Dublin House in Uphams Corner on March 2 that ended with him firing numerous shots across Stoughton Street, a police detective told the Boston Licensing Board today.
