Motorcyclists in Cleveland Circle

Danielle Johns was in Cleveland Circle around noon when hundreds of motorcyclists roared down Chestnut Hill Avenue and onto Beacon Street for the ninth annual Boston Motorcycle Marathon Ride, which benefits the Jimmy Fund.

Associated Press reports parents of some Boston College student are rending their garments over the way the Jesuit-run school is refusing to grant their children religious exemptions.

Khaled Awad, charged with repeatedly stabbing a rabbi outside a Jewish school in Brighton Center, was also formally charged today with committing a civil rights violation causing injury; and armed assault and battery to intimidate causing bodily injury while armed, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Rabbi Shlomo Noginski was stabbed several times outside Shaloh House, 29 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brighton Center this afternoon, by a man who may have tried to kidnap him first, according to e-mail sent out by the school and a report by the national Chabad movement. Read more.

The state Ethics Commission yesterday officially tut-tutted a veteran Boston cop who did a favor for a pal's brother who was basically on probation at his job at the MBTA by writing up a criminal complaint that the guy submitted to prove he had a better reason for missing his shift than simply oversleeping: Getting arrested for beating up his girlfriend. Four workers died and 30 were injured when 2000 Commonwealth Ave., near Chestnut Hill Avenue, collapsed during construction on Jan. 25, 1971. Some photos.

The entire structure was torn down the next year and replaced with the building that still stands today as a BC dorm.

A developer putting up an apartment building and a condo building off Soldiers Field Road in Brighton, which were granted several zoning variances in 2018, today sued the Zoning Board of Appeal for granting several zoning variances earlier this year for an apartment building that would go next door.
