Fans of cold, bitter snow, though, may only have to wait until the end of the week to be back in their element.

WBUR reports Brookline Town Meeting voted Wednesday to ban oil and gas hookups in new buildings - or buildings undergoing major reconstruction work. The measure needs the approval of the state Attorney General's office before it can go into effect.

The MBTA reports it's restored service on the Green Line to and from Riverside, following a windswept tree cracking and falling along the line in Chestnut Hill during the storm. Rider can still expect some delays, but no longer have to get on a shuttle bus for part of their ride.
