Brookline Police report three incidents since February of women being attacked in the evening on the street near the Brighton line.

Brookline Police now have a crime blog, just like Boston's, only with a lot less violent crime:

Boston Police report they and Brookline Police have arrested a guy in connection with a string of armed store holdups across the city and Brookline.

Lee Hines, 40, of West Roxbury, was nabbed yesterday in the parking lot of the West Roxbury VA hospital, after he spotted the cops closing in on his home at 77 Keystone St. According to police, while Hines did roam, he seemed to prefer heists in the 'hood - several stores on Spring Street, an easy walk from his home, had been hit since September.

When residents spotted some guy with a gun on the roof of 30 Jamaicaway, they called police. Police found six people, armed with what turned out to be replica semi-automatic weapons and handguns.

They claimed to have permission to film a movie on the roof; police say the suburban sextet, however, could not provide the names of anybody who had actually given them permission. They face disturbing-the-peace charges; the Globe reports the ringleader now faces an incomplete in a class at the New England Institute of Art.
