Live Boston reports a group of women got into a fight on O'Reilly Way in the Bunker Hill development in Charlestown shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday that ended with one participant stabbed and sliced several times. Police found a wayward pair of Crocs along the blood trail. The victim's injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.

Boston Police report the death of David Martinez, 28, of Roxbury, who was sitting in a car on Decatur Street in the Bunker Hill development when he and Wildeny Tejeda-Mejia of Lynn were shot last Thursday night.

Tejeda-Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene. Martinez was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police say.

Live Boston reports an MBTA bus worker suffered fatal injuries at the Charlestown bus yard when hit by a bus around 5 a.m.

Boston Police report two men sitting in a car were shot outside 74 Decatur St. in the Bunker Hill housing complex shortly before 7:30 p.m. Read more.

The National Park Service lit up the Bunker Hill Monument in purple and gold last night to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment.

The Charlestown Patriot-Bridge reports a local woman was sentenced to 50 hours of community service after she acknowledged she was the one who threw out scores of small stone markers, cut down three trees and repainted a gold fence black at the Peace Park on Lowney Way last year. Read more.

The Charlestown Patriot-Bridge reported yesterday that somebody stole the flower boxes from in front of St. Mary Church on Warren Street - but that a local resident and a former resident who now runs a florist shop in Stoneham teamed up to replace the boxes and flowers. But, the paper reports today, the flowers were once again stolen sometime between last night and this morning.

Raccoon in a tree in Charlestown

A worried citizen files a 311 complaint about some toonie raccoons in Charlestown.

Are racoons in city normal?? Came to take dog out and came across 5 raccoons. I think I scared them and they hid in tree before going into brush on nanny goat hill.

The mayor's office announced today that the Clougherty Pool in Charlestown and the Mirabella Pool in the North end will re-open to Boston residents tomorrow, and will remain open every day, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., through Labor Day. Read more.

A Somerville man police say was shooting off fireworks on the Cambridge Street bridge around 4 p.m. yesterday now faces drug and weapons charges after Transit Police officers nabbed him at the neighboring T station, two Roman candles "protruding from his person." Read more.
