Alright, who let the Gremlins out in the Financial District again?

Red and green lightsStop feeding them after midnight, dammit!

Roving UHub photographer Swirlygrrl captured the stop (and go) light at the end of an O'Neil Tunnel ramp this morning.

. . . but the traffic lights at the cross walk at the mouth of Faneuil Hall on Atlantic Ave are so faint that they are gonna get someone killed one day.

It's been that way for over a week now. The light the shares the same overhead cross bar is steady green. If the poster is really concerned, they should use their "Citizens Connect Boston" app & report it. That, or post this to tweeter & attach @MASSDOT to it…

if you don't have a smart phone or tweet (we are the few, the proud, the semi-connected), the City of Boston's website has a Citizen's Connect form that's easy to fill out and it works. Using the website form, we've had no problem getting missing street signs replaced very quickly in our neighborhood in JP.

I tried using it on my Linux machine with Firefox. With this setup, it didn't let me file the complaint I wanted to. So I got on the phone and called someone. They entered my complaint for me. With this non-Linux/Firefox friendly setup, how do you add a picture? I see it as not being possible.

who answer the phone at the Mayor's 24-hour hot line (617/635-4500) are usually very helpful, too, and will fill out the complaint form for you or actually connect you to the person who can fix whatever the problem is.

There was a crew working at the signal box.

Also, the photo was taken by a passenger, for those who care.

It should be reported to MassDOT Feedback, not Citizen's Connect.

The intersection of Blackfan and Longwood has had one of the signals turned 90 degrees so it faces oncoming traffic. How the hell does THAT happen? None of the city workers or police have noticed it? None of the HUNDREDS of city ambulance crews that drive through there every day? Bullshit - "not my problem", they said.

It feels like any excuse for problems with infrastructure are now "well, nobody reported it in citizen's connect". Hey people, do your job so we don't have to report it in the first place!

Brain-dead traffic engineering in the Longwood Medical Area? I'm going to have to call bulls--- on that claim.

...imagine the "Blue Screen of Death" as applied to our traffic system.

Let the mayhem begin!

I could understand that happening with a rusty old pre-1970 light. But shouldn't a modern light have a conflict detector that automatically switches into flash mode when something like this happens?

And how could it be like that for a week, at one of the most visible locations in the state, a few blocks from MassDOT headquarters?
