Police: Woman raped in broad daylight in Newmarket Square

Boston Police report a woman was raped around 10:20 a.m. on Thursday by a man who first chatted her up at the intersection of Masssachusetts Avenue and Shirley Street:

The victim tells detectives while in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Shirley Street she was approached by the suspect. He allegedly engaged the victim in conversation. A short time later the suspect forced the victim to the rear of a building and where she was sexually assaulted.

The victim described her attacker as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 35 to 40 years of age, medium build, wearing a pink shirt with a white design on it, blue jeans and brown shoes. The suspect has short black hair with a black goatee approximately an inch in length from the bottom of his face.

Police say after the attack, he ran down Mass. Ave. towards Melnea Cass Boulevard.

It is getting real dangerous around the areas of Mass and Melena Cass down to the victoria restaraunt do to the junkies and criminals that prey on the homeless.

I'm pretty sure they're just using it as a convenient geographic landmark. Would "Mass Ave from Melnea Cass to Magazine St." work better?

Ron wasn't complaining about the geographic mention; it was the grammatical malfunction that made the original post appear to claim the diner did something to the homeless.
