Gasner JeanSomebody was stabbed on an outbound 34E bus at Washington and Walworth streets in Roslindale about 12:30 p.m.

Gasner Jean, 49, of no particular address, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow in West Roxbury District Court, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo says.

The victim, 24, was taken to Brigham and Women's and is expected to survive, he adds.

I ride that route daily from the mall and have seen fights, drunks and punks but I never have seen a transit cop on the bus!

Just drove by this and first thought was to check UH. Glad it's not life threatening.

I did the same I drove by and checked twitter and found out what happened. The had a man in custody on the back of a cruiser as I drove by.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office West Roxbury District Court Judge Franco Gobourne ordered Jean held without bail on charges of armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and ordered him to undergo a 20-day mental-health evaluation at Bridgewater State Hospital.
