Two women sexually assaulted, stabbed on Mission Hill

Update: Photos of possible suspect released.

Boston Police report two women were grabbed and stabbed early this morning, possibly by the same man.

In both cases, the women were grabbed from behind, police say.

In the first case, a woman walking in the area of Vancouver Street and Huntington Avenue told police:

The suspect jumped out of the bushes, grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. The female victim was stabbed in the leg, but was able to escape. Her injuries are non-life threatening. The suspect is described as a white male, in his 20s, blonde or brownish hair, 6' feet, wearing a blue plaid shirt and khaki shorts.

Around 2:50 a.m., another woman was grabbed from behind and knocked to the ground about a mile away at Huntington Avenue and Parker Hill Street:

The victim was stabbed in the hand, but able to escape. Her injuries are non-life threatening. The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 20s, brownish wavy hair, 5'7-6 feet, wearing a white or grey hoodie and blue jeans.

Police taped off a large area around Huntington Avenue and Wait Street this morning as they investigate the attacks. "Police and big crowd of people gathered [near Wait]," Reed Van Dyck tweeted around 9 a.m.

Last month, three women were sexually assaulted on Beacon Hill.

Interestingly, both "Public Safety Advisories" sent to the WIT community by Wentworth PS didn't mention the stabbings. They only referred to the incident (and following one in a follow up email) as "attempted sexual assaults."

Because WITPD is a joke. God forbit the NSO kids find out. They might decide not to go to WIT.

Ohhh I totally forgot NSO was going on! During my NSO back in 2008, there was a shooting on campus/Parker St and they put barriers up by Tansey so we couldn't go over there.

Going to school in the hood was always a thrill. In 2010, an armed man being pursued by the police ran into the architecture studios/annex north one night.

This guy looks like a typical WIT or NU student if you ask me.

I go to NU, and we got an advisory - more than one, actually - about the assaults right away.

I wonder if the Beacon Hill attacker and the Mission Hill attacker are the same guy? It is very concerning and definitely shows a pattern of escalation in his attacks that he's now stabbing people :-( (yes, I am a CJ student).

Interesting - both attacks took place right near or within a block of a T stop. Does the T have cameras at their trolley stops and I wonder if they might have more photos of this guy?
