By adamg on Sun, 07/07/2013 - 10:21am
The Boston Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that started at the triple decker at 17 Mansfield St. around 7:10 a.m. and then spread to the two houses on either side and the house in the rear.
One resident was taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, the department says. A total of 19 people were displaced.

I saw the smoke from this
I saw the smoke from this from the Pike. It looked awful, and I can see from the pictures that the place got gutted. I'm glad there were no fatalities though.
Credit to bfd
I drove past it and there was a cloud of smoke and the whole area smelled like burning wood. There were fire engines coming in off of the pike to get to it so you knew they were calling in extra people. But 15 minutes later on my way back from Cambridge it look contained. Great job by BFD, that could have been far worse.
Brutal hot weather
What a day to fight a fire.
