Pedestrian killed in Fields Corner hit-and-run collision

UPDATE: The Globe reports he died.

Around 8:15 p.m. at Dorchester Avenue near the T stop. Due to the severity of the pedestrian's injuries, the homicide unit was summoned.

Or maybe just a preemptive sweep, but the ave was closed to thru traffic from Park St. to Freeport St. Thoughts are with the victim and family. Driver doesn't want to know my thoughts.

The fact that the driver who hit and ultimately ended up killing that pedestrian quickly drove away from the scene indicates something a bit suspicious here, imho. Let's hope the person who did it is charged with vehicular homicide and jailed for awhile.

Without knowing the victim in person, my thoughts and condolences are with the victim's friends and loved ones.
